It’s an exciting time for the makerspace! The 2015-2016 school year is off to an exciting start. Seniors Catherine Barbour, Naomi Detre, and Georgia Fossett are presenting with BC at World Maker Faire in NYC this weekend. Their talk will be about a series of connected projects around the theme of using technology and crafts to reveal invisible connections between people. Over 100,000 people are expected to attend Maker Faire this weekend, and only a small handful of speakers have the honor of presenting at this event.

At the exact same time and on the opposite coast, Josh will be at Stanford University, presenting the philosophy of the makerspace that he and BC have developed over the past year. This week an article they wrote on the same topic was published in the online journal Hybrid Pedagogy. Finally Josh’s article on makerspaces and libraries was published in Edutopia this week as well.

Here’s to an exciting school year ahead!
